Illuminati: Bavarian Illuminati
"None are more
hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free."
-Johann
Wolfgang von Goethe-
Bavarian
Illuminati (1749- 1832)
So when did the Illuminati come into
existence? The current consensus is that it was just another Secret Society
that originated in Bavaria in the late 1700's that didn't last long. Some could
say, with little evidence, that it's been going on for some time longer, not
necessarily to Knights Templar, but even much further back, which I'll
eventually get to.
Common terms usually associated
regarding the Illuminati are "globalists", "powers that
be", "New World Order", even the term "Fat cats" is
sometimes used. When researching the Illuminati the fraternity of Freemasonry
will often be used to reference them as well. But presently the Illuminati are
far more reaching then the average secret society such as Freemasonry or
Rosecrusianism.
Before going too far back into the past,
we'll start by focusing on the Bavarian Illuminati in Ingolstadt, started by
Adam Weishaupt on May 1, 1776. Most of the original members were already
accustomed to Freemasonry, so it could be said that this one was a "spin
off" of Freemasonry or even a secret society within a secret society.
There can be little doubt that the
beliefs of secret societies go a long way within the established order of a
civilized culture. A great deal of the nobility became members of such secret
groups; the influence these people have on communities is quite scopic. In
"The Master Game" Graham Hancock and Robert Bouval go in depth on the
effects certain Freemasons had on both the French and American Revolutions. The
ideas of a secret society are implemented into common culture. When the
Bastielle was dismantled, Paris was decorated with Egyptian symbolism such as a
fountain of Isis, the glass pyramid of the Louvre and obelisk moved and
transported straight out of Luxor. Paris was even known, for a time, as
"The City of Isis". It's unclear what effects the Bavarian Illuminati
may have had in Bavaria, if any, but the effects on Freemasonry were apparent.
Adolph Freiherr Knigge had been a Freemason for some time
and when joined the Bavarian Illuminati, he restructuralized it to the point it
was interchangeable with Freemason lodges. The new system of leadership was
Areopagus, which now, like the Freemason lodges, allowed a group to make the
decisions, instead of Weishaupt alone. The Illuminati were thus able to recruit
Freemasons and infiltrate lodges.
The
meeting was held on August 29, 1781 at Meyer Amschel Rothschild's (Remember
that name) castle it was called The Congress of Wilhelmsbad. The alliance was
made official among certain secret societies such as Freemasons, Martinistes,
Illuminati, etc. All in attendance took an oath never to reveal what had been
discussed. It would have been interesting to be a fly on the wall during that
meeting; Comte de Virieu, a mason in attendance, questioned upon his return was
quoted by saying:
"I can only tell
you that all of this is more serious than you think. The conspiracy which is
being woven is so well thought out, that it will be, so to speak, impossible
for the Monarchy and the Church to escape it."
The order came to an abrupt end in 1885
when the Bavarian Elector Karl Theodore banned all secret societies in Bavaria,
either arresting or banishing members from the country. Adam Weishaupt was
arrested and many private letters that were transcribed between members were
confiscated. Up until this point, one would think that the Illuminati was just
like any other secret society, or social club as most people thought it; but it
was in the private letters that the true intentions were mentioned. A
collection of papers were found when searching the house of Xavior von Zwack:
"By establishing
reading societies and subscription libraries, and taking these under our
direction and supplying them through our labors, we may turn the public mind
which way we will."
"In like manner
we must try to obtain an influence in the military academics (this may be of
mighty consequence), the printing-houses, the bookseller shops, chapters, and
in short in all offices which have any effect, either in forming, and managing,
or even in directing the mind of man: painting and engraving are highly worth
our care."
Even back when the printing-press first
originated, they noticed the power it had among the people. The Illuminati
would come to use this as a highly effective weapon on both the people and
against their enemies.
"We get all the
literary journals. We take care of well-timed pieces (articles), to make the
citizens and the Princes a little more noticed for certain little slips."
It should be noted the degree of control
that the Illuminati was determined to have among the public. This was
psychological tactics before Freud. Another letter Weishaupt wrote states:
"There is no way
of influencing men so powerfully as by means of the woman. These should therefore
be our chief study; we should insinuate ourselves into their good opinion, give
them hints of emancipation from the tyranny of public opinion, and of standing
up for themselves; it would be an immense relief to their enslaved minds to be
freed from any one bound to restraint, and it will fire them the more, and
cause them to work for us with zeal, without knowing that they do so; for they
will only be indulging their own desire for personal admiration."
All of this comes into influence today through modern
retail. All those commercials of the hot girl in a bikini standing next to
whatever they're selling, subliminally effecting the sexuality of the person,
arousing purchase; this'll all come full circle back to the Illuminati. In
modern times, however, symbolism is used more commonly. Companies, today, pick
up ancient symbols of female fertility applying it to their logo, hoping subconsciously,
for the same effect.
In the last century we had the emergence
of psychology and psychoanalysis and the clever new words that came with them.
But is humanity so arrogant to think that we invented the discovery of human
psychological problems? Psyche, herself, was a Greek goddess. For thousands of
years before us man sought answers to his own internal reality; the only thing
that has changed radically is the wording. Nowadays when we say somebody is
psychotic, our ancestors would have said they were "touched by the
spirits." The term Id is just another way of referring to the reptilian
mind, as it was called in various religions and secret societies. In truth
we're really not that more advanced than our ancestors, 90% of the population
still believes in God out of blind faith and wouldn't hesitate to rage war or
kill over religion, which in many cases is contradictory to the religion
itself. Over time as population grew, small bands emerged to control conflict,
maintain peace and were called leaders. They emerged as kings and queens,
medicine men and priests from within secret societies. The rule of the Earth
has fallen into the wrong hands since then.
"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute
power corrupts absolutely."
-
Sir John Dalberg Acton-
Although the Order of the Illuminati
(Bavarian Illuminati) was extinguished in 1785, many other lodges had already
been established outside of Germany. So if the Bavarian Elector abolished the
order only in this area, how could the other lodges in Europe come to a close
as well? Although, Bavaria is where the order originated and the location of
the main lodge, does that necessarily mean the secret society had ended?
Weishaupt's arrest may not have been the last straw; with Areopagus as the law
of leadership, it is likely that the order had carried on through Freemasonry.
So to fully understand what became of
the Order of Illuminati we would need to delve a bit further into Freemasonry.
As stated earlier Freemasonry did have an effect on the actions of citizens
within the country. Back in the 18th Century Freemasonry was viewed more so as
a social club yet rarely do you read anything about them in the history books.
Some of the more known historical figures were Freemasons. Since that time the
number of members have greatly diminished after a series of books in the mid
1800's demonized the secret society. Another reason for their decline in
numbers is that lodges are no longer allowed to offer membership in certain
areas of the world and the only way to join is through request.
The premise of Freemasonry resolves
around hermetacism; symbolism is pulled from ancient Egypt, the Knights Templar
and the Bible. Freemasons symbolically consider Hiram Abiff to be the first
Freemason, who was the Biblical architect of King Solomon's Temple. One of the
rituals they perform to achieve a higher rite revolves around the death of this
man.
Solomon's Temple is important to
Freemasonry because one of myths of this secret society's origins is based off
of the Knights Templar, whose main headquarters was on the Temple Mount. Many
tales of the Knights Templar are enshrouded with mystery because much is known
about the order except for some of the more important aspects. They have their
own story that would divert us too much to explain in full.
In the early 14th Century the Templar
order was all but exterminated by the Catholic Church after King Philip the
Fair, of France, managed to swindle his friend Pope Clement V into the papacy.
Philip was heavily in debt to the Templar order and found the best way to
remove the debt was by removing the Templars. Rumors were spread about the
initiation rituals that led to the accusation of heresy; a crime, at that time,
more severe than breaking any of the 10 Commandments. In most places of Europe
the Templars were tortured and executed with an exception in Portugal and Scotland.
Many of the Templars may have been tipped off the night before the arrest and
escaped the inquisition to more friendly territory.
The grandmaster of the Templars at the
time, Jacques De Molay, was executed along with other prominent Templars as a
heretic. This name would later crop up under a junior Freemasonic secret
society known as the Order of DeMolay. It's also interesting to note that
during the French Revolution at King Louis XVI's execution, a man from the
crowd emerged and dipped his fingers into the blood of the severed king's head
and shouted "Jacques De Molay has been avenged!"
Supposedly the Templars fell in league
with a group of stone masons, where the Templars themselves were expert
architects (Just look at any chapel built by them). In other areas the Templars
started various secret societies, but it is the one with the stone masons that
inevitably led to Freemasonry.
When one wishes to become a Freemason
there are three mandatory rites that must be achieved: Entered Apprentice,
Fellow Craft and Master Mason. Beyond that there are 29 optional rites that can
be learned. Even beyond the 32nd degree mason there is the honorary 33rd Scottish
Rite, which only a select few can achieve. It is believed that within this rite
lie the ranks of Illuminati initiates. Supposedly, there are 13 secret
additional rites beyond the 33rd in Freemasonry that qualify among the
Illuminati ranks. This is just speculation, though, but worth considering.
The Illuminati has lived on and through
covert means, have gained control of every dependable association that human
beings take for granted. They have all the money and power in the world, all
they're after now is control. Grasping the idea of omnipotence on a grand scale
has been the idea of every major dictator. History has proven that global domination
cannot be achieved through force; this group has achieved 90% of their goal
using stealth.
